Overview

The EdgePulse dashboard provides a comprehensive overview of retail sales performance, allowing users to analyse daily and long-term sales trends, salesperson performance, and key business metrics. This guide explains each section of the dashboard and how to interpret the data displayed.

Dashboard Sections

Sales Summary

  • The Sales Summary section shows sales performance at each store location.
  • Shows key performance indicators (KPIs) such as the highest receipt and banking figures.
  • A Total row at the bottom summarises the combined performance of all stores.

Sales Performance Graphs

  • The dashboard displays sales performance graphs for the current day and the last 21 days or month. The 21-day graph can be adjusted to a month-to-date view.
  • Metrics displayed: Sales $, Gross Profit, Average Sale, and Sales Count. These can be toggled using the arrow at the bottom of each graph.
  • Day Adj. checkbox: Adjusts sales data to account for variations such as weekends or public holidays, normalising trends for more accurate comparisons.

Sales Analysis

  • Sales Analysis — Day: Changes the graphs for Sections 4 to 6 to current day summaries.
  • Sales Analysis — Month: Changes the graphs for Sections 4 to 6 to month-to-date summaries.

Salespeople Performance

  • Highlights top-performing salespeople based on revenue generated.
  • Displays a bar graph comparing the sales of individual associates.
  • Clicking "All" expands the view to see performance across all staff.
  • Hovering over each salesperson's bar displays a breakdown of their sales.

Sales KPIs

  • Miscellaneous Sales %: Percentage of total sales attributed to miscellaneous items.
  • Special Orders %: Share of sales from special orders.
  • Services %: Contribution of services to overall sales.
  • Discount $: Total discount given as a dollar figure.
  • Discount %: Total discount given as a percentage of revenue.
  • Sales per Hour: Tracks revenue generated per working hour.
  • Average Sale Value: Average value of individual sales.
  • Items Per Receipt (IPR): Measures the number of items per transaction.

Suppliers and Departments Sales Breakdown

  • Supplier Sales %: Pie chart representation of sales distribution among different suppliers.
  • Department Sales %: Displays sales performance by department in a pie chart format.

Best Practices

  • Monitor trends regularly. Use the 21-day sales graph to identify sales fluctuations and predict future trends.
  • Track individual salesperson performance. Identify top performers and those who may need additional training.
  • Analyse KPI metrics. Focus on key sales indicators to enhance revenue and improve conversion rates.
