Re-cost and Re-price Items

Re-cost and Re-price Items

Overview

The Re-Cost and Re-Price Items process allows for efficient bulk updating of item costs and retail prices. This is used to adjust prices due to changes in costs, such as material price fluctuations or seasonal markups/markdowns.

How to Re-Cost / Re-Price

  1. Go to Administrative → Reprice Items.

Multi-store synchronisation reminder — click OK to proceed

A warning screen will appear regarding store synchronisation. This reminds you to ensure your stores are synchronised for the Re-Cost/Re-Price changes to take effect across all locations. Verify this in the Edge Store Monitor. Click OK to continue.

  1. The Reprice Items screen will open on the Criteria tab.

Note: By default, the Current Price is set to be updated using Retail x Age Markdown. Ensure you make the correct selection for the prices you wish to update. If you do not want to update the Current Price, select No Change.

  1. On the Criteria tab, click the arrow on the Item Filter line to open the stock search parameters screen. Set the parameters to identify the items you wish to re-cost or re-price, then click OK.

  1. At the bottom of the screen, decide whether to apply Psychological Pricing and whether to print tickets.
  2. Switch to the Multipliers tab if you have selected an option that requires multipliers.

Multipliers tab — set Older Than date and factor

  • Older Than: Select a date to re-cost items older than the specified time.
  • Factor: Enter the adjustment factor. For example, 1.2 increases the cost/price by 20%, 0.95 reduces by 5%.

Hint: You can type numbers directly into the Older Than field. For example, entering -30 will automatically calculate the date for items older than 30 days.

  1. Click OK. A list of items matching your criteria will display, showing both the current and updated information.

Re-price results list showing old and new values — select items and click OK

  1. Select Check All to finalise all changes, or tick specific items you wish to modify.

Warning: Review changes carefully before finalising. There is no undo option. Use Print List for backup and future reference.

  1. If you selected to print tickets, they can now be printed from the Print Ticket Queue.
